The surroundings

In the immediate neighbourhood, just a short walk up the hill, you reach the edge of the Arnsberg Forest. From here, you can access many wonderful hiking trails. For example, you can head towards Lörmecke Tower with a stop at the Stimm Stamm inn. You can also walk to the garden city quite quickly and into the Kohlwedertal valley. It's worth taking a break at Josefsteich. In the summer months, you can observe gray and Canada geese in particular, who use this wonderful place to raise their young. In dry weather, it's worth having a picnic on one of the many benches around the pond. Then continue up the hill and back down again to visit the beautiful village of Eversberg. Take a detour to the local history museum in the historic town center and then enjoy a coffee break with a view of one of the many half-timbered houses. There are many more beautiful places to discover directly from the loft.

Straight through the city center, behind the district office, you reach Hennepark on the Henne floodplains. The path winds past viewing platforms and benches that invite you to linger before you reach the Himmelstreppe (sky staircase). With its 333 steps, it is a real challenge before you can see the Hennesee at the end of the route. Sunbathe in Berghausen Bay and, after a nice, long walk south, again in Mielinghausen Bay, then take a boat trip back to the landing stage. The next day, walk through the forest along the lake on the sensory trail and later on to the pirate playground and stand-up paddling. From the dam, you can look out over the lake, and if you turn around, you can see the whole town.
